Public Hearings to be scheduled for Rural Communities in Vermillion River Watershed
If the Rural Communities in the Vermillion River Watershed do not adopt an ordinance to implement the Rural  Local Water Management Plan by April 23, 2009, the Vermillion River  Watershed Joint Powers Organization will be authorized to take over permitting authority under its Water Management Plan for the watershed.    The ordinance  is not being written by the rural cities and townships.   Dean Johnson, a planning consultant with Resource Strategies,  is writing the ordinance, and will be handling the public hearings  required to be held before the ordinance can be adopted.   Joint Public Hearing on March 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ravenna Town Hall, 20425 Red Wing Blvd. (1/4-mile east of Highway 316 on Red Wing Blvd. at the intersection with Putnam Path) for the following townships and city: Douglas Township      Marshan Township        Nininger Township Ravenna Township     Vermillion Township      City of Vermillion Joint Public Hearing on March 19, at 7:00 p.m., at the Castle Rock Town Hall, 2537-240th Street (one mile east of Highway 3 on 240th Street) for the following townships and city: Castle Rock Township    City of Coates             Empire Township Eureka Township            City of Hampton          Hampton Township Copy of joint notice published in the Hastings Star Gazette
